After working on this over the course of a year I finally completed this painting. After I finished “Anubis” for some reason Isis called to me, & to be patient and take time with her. The scripture in the background are all hieroglyphics which you can find in her temple in Egypt, a lot of these scriptures have been found in many pharaoh tombs across the kingdom of pharaohs. Isis was the daughter of the earth god Geb and the sky goddess Nut and the sister of the deities Osiris, Seth, and Nephthys.
Isis had great powers such as: healing, protection, and magic. She could even cast spells on Ra. An example of her powers is when Isis brought Osiris back to life for one night. Worship of this Egyptian goddess spread from Egypt to England. Egyptians adored Isis, divine protector of the dead, for two millennia before her cult spread beyond the Nile to the rest of the Roman Empire.
